Vitamins Which Fight Off Bad Breath

Halitosis or bad breath can be a condition wherein it can be embarrassing for a person causing low self esteem. Bad habits on oral hygiene and periodontal disease can be elements that contribute for a person to have bad breath. In order to combat foul breath effectively, there are supplementations that are required to be included in a person's diet. There are fruits and vegetables that have vitamins and nutrient to cure foul breath.

There are many easy ways to avoid foul breath and that is to brush your tongue and floss at least one time a day. One best approach in preventing bad breath is to brush 3 times a day. Folic acid or vitamin B9 is needed to help treat gum issues like that of gingivitis. Good sources of vitamin 9 would include brewer's yeast, orange juice, turnip greens, root veggies, salmon, kidney beans, beets and also spinach.

Vitamin C is one nutrient which has an anti-oxidant effect which protects the body from damaging substances referred to as free radicals. A person needs to eat enough amount of vitamin C in order to prevent bleeding gums and gingivitis. Foods which are known to contain vitamin C would include spinach, tomatoes, strawberries, oranges, cantaloupe, mangoes, red peppers, raspberries and cabbages.

Another vitamin which helps to fight of bad breath is Coenzyme Q10. This is a nutrient which has an anti-oxidant property to help protect the body from harm brought by toxins. Coenzyme Q10 can be found in oily fish, organ meats and whole grains.
